Wrath of the Wendigo
Bear Claw Talisman
Bear Claw Talisman
3 inch by 3/4 inch approximate, child's hand for reference
This is a very powerful talisman, given to me in a vision on the other side. The claw itself is of a polar bear or “isbjorn” ( ice bear), which invokes the Berserker spirit. Carved in North Carolina from native Maple trees, every detail is relevant. While Oak is more well known, the Maple tree was sacred in Norse mythology as well. Associated with the goddess Hlin, whose name means protector. For the Greeks, Maple was associated with both Ares and Phobos, war and fear.
The runes are engraved, and then painted in gold and blue. Gold represents spiritual light, while blue is for the All Father. From top left, the runic meanings are as follows:
1) Pertho- fate, chance, and secrets
2) Uruz- primal power and forces of nature. Thor, strength, and courage
3) Gebo, combined with Ansuz- This represents the All Father’s gift.
4) Othala- heritage, ancestors, homeland, and people.
Right side, top left to bottom:
Dagaz- enlightenment
Tiwaz- For the War God Tyr, this is an invocation of his favor in battle
Wolf’s Eye ( Kenaz forward and reversed, with Ingwaz in the middle)- This is the most complex rune on the talisman. Kenaz represents the torch. In this context, forward and reversed, it means you can see in the spirit realm with light or without it. Ingwaz represents completion or fulfillment. The Wolf’s Eye allows you to see in the spirit realm, and find what you seek.
Sowilo- Sun, victory, and spiritual enlightenment. It also represents lightening, not only the most powerful force in the universe, but a weapon to summon in the spirit realm.
